The Founder’s Word

Founder’s Chronicle

The Origin

Edgar Willy Kosgey · Founder & Chief Executive Officer

WITEL began with the conviction that enduring institutions are created through:

Principles before profit. Systems before scale. Governance before growth.

From this conviction emerged the idea that an institution must preserve not only its activities, but also the knowledge, reasoning, standards and principles upon which those activities are founded.

The WITEL Institutional Library was therefore conceived as a permanent repository of the Institution’s philosophy, standards, governance, operating systems and accumulated institutional knowledge.

It is intended to ensure that knowledge is not lost with individuals and that the Institution does not repeatedly have to rediscover what it has already learned.

Each generation of WITEL is expected to contribute to the Institution while preserving the integrity of what came before.

The Chronicle therefore represents more than history. It represents the beginning of an institutional memory — and will expand as significant moments, decisions and developments are recorded over time.
